Author Guidelines

General Requirements

Edukara: Journal of Education, History, and Culture publishes original scholarly manuscripts in the fields of education, history, and culture. Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by other journals.

Submission Procedure

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s Open Journal System (OJS).

Manuscript Format

  • Paper size: A4, single column
  • Margin: 2.5 cm; line spacing: 1.15
  • Length: maximum 20 pages
  • Font:
    • Times New Roman 11 pt (main text)
    • 10 pt (tables, figures, references)
    • 12–14 pt (titles and subtitles)

Title, Abstract, and Keywords

  • Title: maximum 12 words (English) / 14 words (Indonesian)
  • Author details: full name (without academic titles), affiliation, and email required
  • Abstract: written in both Indonesian and English, maximum 200 words, including background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions
  • Keywords: maximum 5 keywords

Article Structure

  1. Introduction (15–20%): background, objectives, problem formulation, and relevant literature review
  2. Methodology (10–15%): research design, subjects/data sources, instruments, procedures, and data analysis techniques
  3. Results and Discussion: presentation of findings, interpretation, and discussion linked to previous studies and theoretical framework
  4. Conclusion: summary of key findings, implications, and recommendations for future research

References

  • Must follow APA Style
  • At least 80% of references should be from the last 10 years
  • Priority should be given to reputable journals, academic books, and credible scholarly sources
  • The use of reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is highly recommended

Review Articles

Review articles must include: Introduction, Theoretical/Conceptual Framework, Discussion, and Conclusion demonstrating contributions to knowledge development.

Submission Checklist

  • Manuscript follows the author guidelines
  • Manuscript is original and not under review elsewhere
  • References are complete and formatted in APA Style
  • Tables, figures, and illustrations are clear, numbered, and cited in the text
  • Permission for third-party materials has been obtained (if applicable)

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
