Publication Ethics
Manisha: Journal of Education and Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarly works in the fields of education and social sciences. The journal serves as a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to disseminate original research articles, theoretical studies, literature reviews, and innovative educational practices that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the improvement of education and society.
The journal accepts manuscripts written in English or Indonesian. All submissions are expected to demonstrate originality, academic rigor, methodological soundness, critical analysis, and meaningful contributions to scholarly development.
The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Education: curriculum and instruction, teaching and learning methods, educational policy, teacher education and professional development, educational technology, assessment and evaluation, classroom practices, educational leadership, and related fields.
- Social Sciences: history, economics, sociology, geography, anthropology, psychology, political science, communication studies, cultural studies, and other related disciplines.
Through this broad scope, Manisha: Journal of Education and Social Sciences aims to promote academic excellence, foster interdisciplinary research, encourage intellectual innovation, and strengthen the role of education and social sciences in addressing contemporary social, cultural, and educational challenges at both national and international levels.
Publication Ethics
Manisha: Journal of Education and Social Sciences is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility in scholarly publishing. The journal follows the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and requires all parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to comply with these ethical principles.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are original, accurate, and properly acknowledge all sources through appropriate citation. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and duplicate or simultaneous submissions are strictly prohibited.
Authors must present research findings honestly and transparently, provide sufficient methodological details to enable verification, and disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not be under consideration by another journal or previously published elsewhere.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts objectively, fairly, and solely on the basis of their scholarly merit, originality, significance, and relevance to the journal's scope. Editorial decisions must not be influenced by the authors' nationality, gender, ethnicity, religion, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
Editors must preserve the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and ensure that unpublished information is not disclosed or used for personal benefit. Editors are also responsible for safeguarding publication ethics, addressing allegations of research misconduct, and maintaining the integrity of the editorial process.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations that assist authors in improving the quality of their manuscripts. All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without the editor's permission.
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited, report suspected plagiarism or other ethical concerns, disclose any conflicts of interest, and decline review invitations whenever they are unable to provide an impartial assessment.
4. Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher works collaboratively with the editorial board to ensure that ethical standards are consistently maintained throughout the publication process. In cases of suspected research misconduct, the publisher supports fair and transparent investigations and, when necessary, facilitates the publication of corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern in accordance with COPE guidelines.
The publisher is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record, promoting responsible research practices, and supporting transparent, ethical, and high-quality scholarly publishing.
